## Information We Collect

**Account Information:** When you register, we collect your first name, last name, phone number, and a hashed PIN. We may also collect your email address if provided.
**Identity Verification (KYC):** To verify your identity, we collect government-issued ID documents (Ghana Card, Passport, Voter's ID, or Driver's Licence), a selfie photo, your full legal name, date of birth, and document number.
**Transaction Data:** We record details of escrow transactions including item descriptions, amounts, buyer and seller information, and transaction status history.
**Payment Information:** We collect Mobile Money (MoMo) account details and payment references. We do not store card numbers — card payments are processed securely by Paystack.
**Device & Usage Data:** We may collect your IP address, browser type, and usage patterns to improve our services and detect fraud.
## How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and operate the Gyedi escrow platform
- Verify your identity and prevent fraud
- Process payments and escrow transactions
- Send transaction notifications and updates

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:
**Transaction Parties:** Your name and basic contact details may be visible to the other party in an escrow transaction.
**Payment Processors:** We share necessary payment information with Paystack and MTN Mobile Money to process transactions.
**Legal Requirements:** We may disclose your information if required by Ghanaian law, court order, or government authority.
**Service Providers:** We use trusted third-party services including Cloudinary (image storage) and Supabase (database hosting) who process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements.
## Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), hashed passwords and PINs, and secure cloud storage. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
## Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. KYC documents are retained for compliance purposes as required by Ghanaian financial regulations.
## Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
